Edward Elric had no father. He saw pictures, and was told Hoenheim had gone away. The library of alchemy and his mother's words was all he left.

Edward Elric had no mother. He saw the doctor come to see Trisha, and was told she was very ill. She smiled when he brought her alchemical flowers to her bedside.

Edward Elric had no brother. He saw nothing, was told nothing as the energies of human transmutation took Alphonse away. He gave his arm, his voice, his heart, to stop the storm of alchemy released and the silence was his only reward.
