Science and Engineering [FMA, Winry, G]
Title: Science and Engineering
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Rating: G
Genre: Vignette
Words: 150
Notes/Warnings: Done for '6 flights of fancy' for [info]12dayschristmas.
Summary: Winry's perspective on automail and alchemy.
Disclaimer:

Alchemy had always seemed a bit uncanny to Winry. With automail, she understood it. All the parts fit together in a way she grasped -- the automail was the sum of the parts you put in it, yet together they made a working limb. Alchemy, for all that Ed talked about equivalent exchange wasn't that. Sure, the parts were all the same, but the circle and calculations seemed to have no relation to how they fit together, not like taking things apart and putting them together with her tools and hands. You couldn't see the nuts and bolts and solder with alchemy.

Winry the adult thought that things had worked out all right, considering, that she was an automail mechanic, but Winry the child wondered if she had learned alchemy like Ed and Al, if they would have stopped leaving her behind.
