Like all nightmares it began innocently enough, with a request to go find a human, and escort her back to the temple. Then things took a series of turns into darkness, and Filia found herself surrounded by mazoku, ghosts and betrayal in the cold heart of a makeshift mausoleum. And she couldn't wake up, because this nightmare wasn't a dream.
Filia looked around the pottery shop in the morning light, purchased with the last money from her temple vestments. She had carefully tucked the egg away in a basket -- close, but leaving her hands free to work. Daybreak had come.
