Illusions Under Moonlight [Escaflowne, Van/Celena, G]
Title: Illusions Under Moonlight
Fandom: Escaflowne
Rating: G
Genre: Romance
Words: 100
Notes/Warnings: Done for "dancing in a ring of moonlight" @ 31_days. Van/Celena. End of series spoilers.
Summary: Van notices something odd about Celena's mannerisms.
Disclaimer: Vision of Escaflowne copyright Shoji Kawamori and this derivative work was created without permission.

Celena meant 'of the moon', and it suited her -- pale skin and ash-blonde hair and blue eyes. Van noticed that she minimized this, choosing her appearance to make her hair look more golden, or her skin more tan, no matter how fashionable pale was. It hadn't occurred to him why until he awoke to see her one night -- without makeup and in her nightshift -- hair and eyes and skin all washed-out by the moonlight. Blue and gold were the colors of the Schezar family and Asturia. White and red belonged to a life she wanted to forget.
